Tank bottom Sludge in Vashi White Oil Terminal, Navi Mumbai
Sludge was stored in 3 separate pits. OFT has recommended one bioremediation pit and transferred the entire sludge
into this pit. The percentage of Oil & Grease was 12.17% before commencement of bioremediation.
Result
This sludge has been successfully remediated in the site and converted as a rich manure. Plant growth
has commenced in this site within one seasonal cycle.
Achievement:
The oil & grease content was brought down to 1%.
